Words can not express the horrific, senseless loss of life that occurred in Orlando, Florida on June 12th 2016. In the wake of these events, you see that their is great hope for humanity; we can come together, stand together to support our fellow human beings. In the wake of every major act of violence we have witnessed, something that must not be lost is how we respond in these times of great evil. For a brief moment in time, we stand united, to try and give strength and support to those affected. We stop bickering and fighting and just care for one another.
Yet this sense of Unity fades more rapidly after each unforeseen and unnecessary tragic event; in the weeks after September 11th the hate did not spread till our government used it to start an illegal war. We can not let this keep happening, we must hold on to that sense of Unity. Do not fall into the trap of being turned against one another by our government, do not let this event be used to spur up more hate. It has to stop, have we not lost enough, have we not suffered enough, when is enough enough? Celebrate our differences, rejoice in the fact that we are all unique, do not stop living, do not stop loving. We will end the hate, it can not last, the more hate we see, the more we have to love.
