Finding hope in Trump's America

I think these past few years have been brutal on all of us, not just those fighting Trump's America, but everyone. I have been truly reflecting on the state of the world, and the real tragedy is that everyone on all sides are suffering. Some may have brought it upon themselves, but that just means they are not worthy of hate, only pity. Hate blinds us as badly as fear does, and it is clear that for Trump, fear is his end all be all "Hail Mary". Which is why recently I can only laugh at his antics, I feel for those he is harming, but for the most part, he is harming people with his words. Few of his abusive policies make it anywhere, he raises Hell causing major mental trauma, then he loses interest. Fear is a very harmful tool, and while I am learning to laugh at his antics, treating it as a comedy routine for the sake of my sanity. Sadly, the fact remains that he is causing great mental anguish to many. I only know what I have seen, so I can not state for a fact that he is intending harm. However, at this point, his refusal to see the harm he has caused does make it clear that intent or not, he does not care if he does cause harm, and that I can say as a fact. So how do we find hope amongst this disaster? We do need to start seeing his actions for what they are, cheap provocation.
Now many great comedians would do an act very much like Trumps for great laughs, so for our sanity let's just pretend he is the town clown. The most harm his presidency is truly doing, is the hatred and violence his act is creating, so let's stop taking his act seriously. Instead of getting worried and afraid when he announces some horrible plan, we can instead focus on fighting the real battles. All his act does is distract us, it creates a needless fight that we must face, forcing us to retreat from the battles that truly matter. Right now the state of hopelessness and constant fear, that Trump has created is doing massive harm to us all, we all are focused on so many battles that we can not fight the wars that we care most about. We are beaten and broken down from fighting a bullies needless provocation. Trump is a bully, not just for how he speaks to people, but because he has been shown that he is harming others, and he simply does not care. In fact, Trump only increases the harmful behavior after being made aware, which is a sign of a Sociopath. Thankfully, there is hope, while we have lost some battles, we are winning the wars where it counts. History shows us that every society follows a natural cycle, we are at the stage where things get very, very bad. Yet, as cliched as it is, there is truth in the fact, that it is always darkest before the dawn.
